Can you recommend a Landscaper?

SV Parent Too's picture

Do any of you have a landscaper that you can highly recommend?

We are looking to:

(1) Have a spring cleaning done

(2) Have some french drains put in

(3) Have about 1/4 to 1/2 acre hydroseeded

We are looking for someone that is reasonably priced that we could continue to use long term.

Thanks for your help!

Have you ever heard of Angie List? We have used it a couple of times to find someone & had good luck; though not in the areas you've posted ...

Very reasonable as well.

How about getting off your donkey and do your own stupid Spring cleaning. Unbelievable. Total waste of a thread.

You have to know she's an Eastie like yourself. She's just trying to give some of us Westies a chance to work for food.

Did you not see your shadow again? It IS Spring and you're cranky!

There is one out on Mars-Evans City Road... Professional Landscaping Service or something. I have dealt with them in the past. Satisfied with the job.

i cannot believe it...i was thinking landscaper as well this morning before leaving work because a fissure the size of the sheps donkey opened up in my front yard and started spewing bulldung all over the place. now i just need to fill the hole in and get some seed because there is plenty of organic fertilizer.

I highly recommend Douds Brothers, they do great work!

But found out they were illegal aliens !
Last I heard...they opened up a mex restuarant in cranberry !

low blow on the mexicans/mexican restuarant take. You'll pay for that with some extra time in purgatory.

Seriously, if you cann't do your own landscaping, shame on your lazy a@@. Grab a rake, pick up some stickies, plants some freaking bulbs and do your own crap. The day The Shep pays someone to Spring clean or cut my blades is the day The Shep is no longer The Shep.

I do know this, Vader does his own landscaping. His wallet is rusted at the hinge. His checkbook is fossilized. He'll be fixin' his own fissure...and liking the way the smells afterwards.

Do you ever laugh? Life is too short to be so cynical. Lighten up green man.

I'm being very serious !
Hey Shep, If you were in a wheel chair wouldn't you hire a landscaper ?

Some people have better things to do that they enjoy more than yardwork. What about spending time and entertaining your children. If you can afford to have someone cut your lawn and do your landscaping-go for it.

myfoursons's picture

the shep is heavily invested in super glue......he put that on his wallet long ago and no one has seen the inside ever since.

Thanks to those of you that responded reasonably.

To those of you that I offended by asking for a landscaper and suggested that I do it myself...are you serious?

I wasn't asking for someone to cut my grass or plant some bulbs. I asked for someone who could install french drains and hydroseed. Are you really suggesting that I buy the equipment and do that myself?

Even if you were asking for someone to cut your grass, there is nothing wrong with that! We have someone come and do ours-too much property-kids out of the house-very reasonable and it saves my husband from the back pain of a degenerative disc he suffers from.

SV Parent Too's picture

We used to have someone that cut our grass, but we weren't happy with the quality of the service, so my husband decided to start doing it himself which has worked out for us. However, if it starts to take too much time away from our family, we will probably go back to having someone else do it. Different people have different circumstances in life that may affect their desire and/or ability to do yardwork.

I think there is nothing wrong with having someone cut your grass, it just wasn't what I was asking. We have a huge project going on where we are expanding the size of our usable yard and just wouldn't be able to do it ourselves even if we wanted to.

Some people are just exceptionally judgmental and think this board is only to voice their complaints.
