On children/parenting
Chanel - I have only daughters (both teens) who, so far, have given me NO trouble. It's bittersweet to watch your children grow up. :)
These teens in FLA - again, parents probably not a big part of their lives, sad.
So...some "words" to ponder:
As a mother of teenagers, do you know how many times I picked up the phone to apologize to my own mother?
- Christy Borgeld
We should never permit ourselves to do anything that we are not willing to see our children do.
- Brigham Young
Motherhood qualified me to let the child within come out and play.
- Christy Borgeld
Level with your child by being honest. Nobody spots a phony quicker than a child.
- Mary MacCracken
If you want children to keep their feet on the ground, put some responsibility on their shoulders.
- Abigail Van Buren
Your children will become what you are; so be what you want them to be.
- David Bly
Children need love, especially when they do not deserve it.
- Harold Hulbert
***To understand your parents' love you must raise children yourself.
- Chinese Proverb
Children are the reward of life.
- Congolese Proverb
A child becomes an adult when he realizes that he has a right not only to be right but also to be wrong.
- Thomas Szasz
Blessed indeed is the man who hears many gentle voices call him ‘father.’
- Lydia Maria Child
***MY FAVE. I always tell my kids, "One day, you'll understand!"

Very well put. I also have two girls and not sure I am looking forward to the teenager years but they are closer then I realize. I don't know what it's like to have a boy but I do hear that mom's and sons have a special bond. I atleast have two girls that I can go shopping with.
Thank you for sharing. I loved that!
We have 2 girls & all so true ... applies 2 our son also... What a fabulous post 4 a rainy Friday!!
