Drugstore Question
Tags:
I just saw in the Post-Gazette North section that the Cranberry Supervisor's have approved a 14,000+ sq ft Rite Aid drive through pharmacy on Freedom Rd across from Cranberry Mall.
Giant Eagle, Kuhn's, Walmart, Costco, and Target all have a pharmacy inside them. There is a brand-new CVS sitting on the corner of Haine School Rd & Freedom. There is a Rite Aid with a drive thru on Rt 19 @ Rochester Rd. The current site of Hartner's is going to be a Walgreen's and there's already a Walgreen's on Rt 228, as well as in Zelie and Wexford. There is also a little Rite Aid next to Kuhn's at Cranberry Mall.
I am obviously missing some attraction these stores have. Can anyone out there tell me why we need all of these drugstores? Will they eventually locate one in every housing plan in Cranberry?
Does anyone actually shop in these stores? The only time I've even seen cars at the Rite Aid @ Rt 19 & Rochester is on Friday & Saturday night when the crowds from Mad Mex park over there.

I can say that if they have one of those coupons where you get a transferred prescription filled they will give you $30.00 I will be their. I love jumping pharmacy's for these. My scrip is $20.00 and I get $30.00 gift card. So with another pharmacy coming the competition will be getting tough and that means more incentive for those kind of coupons. What a deal !
...it's called capturing the aging health-conscious baby booming market.
We've covered this kind of thread again, and again, and again and again. There's not a single thing the township can do to prevent these buildings from being built. Live with it, sweetheart, or head North.
They keep popping up b/c they are very profitable. Fill scripts and buy some junk. That's their M/O.
You're mean and cranky as usual..

You remind me of the cranky guy who really is just lonely & needs TLC ....

PS Why don't you come up w/ a thread idea .... you seem to know what's what ... what are you interested in?
your insistance on that last part bears no truth in part....are they profitable? sure, due to the crap inside? no freakin way. that is why nearly 50% of them now have drive-thru's. no junk purchase, according to your rationale, no profit and no reason to build. why are there so many? sherwood oaks probably feeds 2 - 3 of these just by itself. there are numerous old-timers actually in the community that are driving their 57 chevy's to pick up somekind of med or other..... its the drugs man and YOU know it. they even deliver the stuff nowadays, again flying in the face of your premise that the junk makes them fly...c'mon dude, stick with the ripping stuff.
I never meant to imply that twp should/could do anything regarding this. The twp is not able to prevent a drugstore or bank on every corner as long as zoning and other ordinances are followed.
My confusion was over how these things are profitable with so many of them around. Thanks to those who actually explained who is likely shopping there.
We're fortunate to not need any medications on a regular basis, at most only once a year when one of us gets sick, so I am not currently their target customer and hope to not be for a long time.
you better enjoy those heels babe. Your stems are fading fast and a pair of orthotics are soon in your future.
This is The Shepard and I approve of this message.
Glad you're keeping up on Vaders research project and guess what? You haven't seen my stems, but that's okay no fault of your own...and I can guarantee they are not fading. And don't call me 'babe', that really pisses me off..
And you're MEAN and CRANKY!!!

Maintenace drugs (blood pressure/heart/cholesterol) fuel all of this. I saw that in the paper too. I also saw they were putting in a Starbucks which means you could walk between the one on 228, the new one and the one in the Giant Eagle faster than you can say "triple Vente latte.
