Does anyone else get really sick of stories like this? How much will it cost to convert all of our currency?

in nations around the planet have different sizes for disabled people. It is unlawful for our nation to have all our notes the same size.
My blind aunt, Veronica, would go to the bank to get money. She requested all her money in $1's $5's and $10's. When the teller gave her the $10's she folded them in half, when the teller gave her the $5's she folded them length ways. And the $1's, she left open and flat. This wouldn't work at an ATM machine, but I guess they wouldn't be driving there themselves anyway. She always knew what the denomination of the money in her wallet was. Of course that was 30 years ago and she just did what she needed to do to get by. Maybe this simple solution wouldn't work today but it worked for her. The one time that I do remember her being upset was when the "Susan B. Anthony" dollar coin came out. She couldn't feel the difference between the dollar and the quarter. That was a "Big" minting mistake, how many of those dollar coins do you find in your wallet today. I guess that mistake took care of itself. Not a solution, just a comment!
WHAT???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
You have got to be kidding me. This is a joke that I just don't get, right?
ILLEGAL. ILLEGAL??????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How about we convert all of our money into different sizes, for those who are blind. Then we print all of the money with every *^%$#@^&(& language known, so our dear &%$#@)(^ illegal aliens friends don't get confused.
But then where will we get the paper to print these new bills on???
Will we have to cut down some trees????
If we do, then I'm all for the different sizes. As long as we're cutting down the trees with the chain saw going right through the middle of the tree-hugging liberals trying to save it.
Had I not used spell check ... I would have beaten U 2 the punch ... but/& our posts say the same thing ... just a tiny bit differently!! LOL

Why do you give a flying **** what other countries do?
In some of "those countries" you would "disappear" for questioning what the government is doing. In some of "those countries", you head would suddenly leave your body for saying the wrong thing. In some of "those countries" you wouldn't make enough money to worry about what size it is.
What other suggestions do you have? Vote for Obama? THAT should be illegal (in all 57 states he has visited).
Did you notice the good looking girls at the party? Yeah, you did because they weren't wearing those sheets across their faces like they have to legally do in some of those "other countries".
Do you really want me to continue to make a list of what "other countries" do and don't do? I will be more than happy to continue this "discussion". I'm tired of being the quietest guy on this blog.
i have to respond to 'quiet'? i doubt that based on what I witnessed last Friday night! Glad to see you're still 'alive'...haha.. you know what i'm talking about...lol

Sorry, I just don't buy it. The US is the most accommodating country there is. I was recently in Canada and they were missing wheel chair ramps and their dollars are the same size. They are different colors, but that won't help the blind. My husband has done a lot of international travel and has brought some currency home. With the exception of some countries having more dollar denomination coins, their bills all look alike.
If we change our currency, just how many other groups will have problems with the new currency? This stuff makes be crazy, when the redesign our bills maybe they can make them bilingual and take that "In God We Trust" part off--we already know that offends people.
Pick on someone your own size and Gender. First of all your a GIRL and secondly you surely are not QUIET!!!! Hence NOT THE QUIETEST GUY ON THE BLOG-YES, I AM YELLING AT YOU.
itsjustmeagin ... Bravo 2 your Aunt!! "Necessity is the mother of invention." Plato (428/427-348/347 BC) - Greek Philosopher -- it was true way back when Plato lived & said it, it was true when your Aunt lived, it is still true now & will remain true, yes?

Huh?
Where are you? I have been setting off my car alarm all day! The neigbors are pissed! The cops came and told me to knock it off. I told them I knew CT Parent, and they put the cuffs on harder!
there are very many countries that have different sized bills...why? i have no idea but i am sure it has more to do with something other than the blind...it is a pain in the donkey actually because they don't all fit into an american wallet very well.
Coins..they can be problematic anywhere. i definitely feel for the blind in this case. i am surprised at the susan b versus a quarter thing though...even for the general public the difference that was deliberatly built into the coins is that the susan b is not round but rather a polyhedron and a quarter has a serrated edge all around the circumference. i figured the blind would be able to feel this easily? nonetheless the susan b was a failure...I really do like the new $1 golden coins, bigger, gold, no serrations...my kids like the look of 'em
i feel deeply for the blind so none of the following is intended to diminish their plight.
I am totally with TL on most of this one...we are too accomodating in most cases for things perfectly normal people can do...the first (and biggest to me) is LEARN ENGLISH. when i go into lowes and see every single row and many products labeled in several but mostly spanish languages i cringe...every other immigrant culture learned english as a matter of functioning in this society. seriously, if you don't want to learn it LEAVE post haste. appeasement to this kind of stuff is lame.
everyone is entitled to keeping some of their original heritage intact but if you want naturalized and become a citizen of this nation you are an american and americans speak ENGLISH. if you come here and WANT to be and remain an illegal that cannot communicate with anyone learn the language or struggle getting by or better yet, leave.
things originally done to suit the handicapped such as wheelchair ramps or sidewalk breaks have also become really useful to those of us that have had the need for strollers, wagons, etc.. thats an appeasement that is beneficial to all so it is really not an appeasement.
the accomodation to the removal of "in god we trust" people...all 10 of them is absurd and makes me lose a lot of respect for the government.
money is printed on linen so i am not sure it has an impact on trees but if it does i'm with tl again.
am, i love the car alarm part...looking for tl to pull that one on him and see if he has that baseball bat on hand! i thought he would be an old curmudgeon with that comment but he definitely was not.
got an 8:00 at field 5

How is that fair to the blind? What do they get out of it?
See, any blog can be quickly taken sideways...
