I would like to get your opionion on the shooting death of a police K-9 in Pittsburgh. I think it's such BS that parents don't even know their grown children have a criminal record and think they are such good kids. That person deserved to die you put a gun in your hand in a situation like this then you know what the consquences are. Police dogs are police officer's by state and federal law. Those officer's had no reason to think that they were not going to get shot at. Parents need to wake up and not look so STUPID on tv like they had no idea that their son was a cold blooded killer. I am also sick of people like these parents playing the victim your not the victim the victim is the police officer that was shot and killed.

A shooting is a shooting. Killing is killing. The K-9 is regarded as part of the police force. Those officers lives were in jeopardy. If a shooter will shoot at the K-9 you can bet they will shoot at anything. No respect for authority or other peoples lives. IMO-it was a situation of "him or me, I am next".

(or greed). There is no responsible argument for the media to give these parents the platform to make inflammatory statements and broadcast/publish it. The shooting is news, and should be covered. Legitimate questions should be asked about the whole situation, and the facts verified. That is news as well. However, the parents reaction is not news.

The reason the media is giving them coverage is simply sensationalism as that is what collects eyeballs, and ratings in turn sells advertising. In the meantime, the result is reckless inflammation of emotions that can spill over into more violence.

The media should have the good judgment to not give a platform to those so clearly looking to be a victim of 'the system'.

It is tragic they lost a child. Good kid or bad kid- it's still the loss of a child, something a parent just shouldn't have to deal with. We cannot know what efforts they have done to prevent this boy from turning out the way he did. They may have done everything you or I would have and that just wasn't enough, for whatever reason. Or they may not have. We don't know. However, their inane patter about a conspiracy is not going to help them deal with the reality or enormity of what their child did, and the unfortunate, but justified end result. Nor is it going to garner them any sympathy. And the media simply shouldn't give them a platform.

So ends my rambling rant regarding removed-from-reality parents combined with irresponsible media coverage.
