Western PA Humane Society to Visit Opening of Western PA's First Ever Dog Water Park !
Pittsburgh, May 17, 2008 -- As the summer season draws closer so too does vacation time for many families. When the Lucky Paws Pet Resort (located in Freedom, PA just a few miles from Cranberry) opens its new addition this weekend they will bring a first to the area... the first ever water park for pooches in Western Pennsylvania! This unique pet friendly venue will include a 2,800 square foot swimming area designed just for your dog to roam, play and swim!
The Western Pennsylvania Humane Society will be on hand with several adoptable pets from 12 noon until 4 PM on Saturday May 17th. All proceeds from the event that day will benefit the animals at the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society.
Lucky Paws Pet Resort Owner Susan Walker will host a special grand opening of the water park from noon to 8PM on May 17 & May 18 that is free and open to the public. "We are very excited for our grand opening and that the Western PA Humane Society will be part of it. There will be lots of prizes, treats, raffles....everything to make it a great day for the family. Any animal that gets adopted that day will also receive a special present from Lucky Paws."
The family-run pet resort is furnished with indoor luxury suites with heated ceramic floors, air conditioning, cable TV, sound systems and elevated beds. Lucky Paws also offers traditional kennel runs for dogs and a giant indoor cat house. The cat house covers 120 square feet and includes Cable TV, a fish tank in the living room, and heated hardwood floors.
Founded in 1874, the Western PA Humane Society is Pittsburgh's oldest animal charity, operating two open-door shelters in Allegheny County. They also provide a low-cost spay and nueter program, obedience classes for dogs of all ages, Humane Education programs in schools and businesses and cruelty and abuse investigations. Last year the two shelters took in over 13,000 animals.
